HOW TO TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR UNDERARMS

Whether you’re a wash-and-wear type of girl or someone who likes to spend time perfecting a winged eye, you probably have a few habits you like to do everyday. But while hair, face, and nails are usually top priority, many miss out on caring for one important area – their underarms/armpit.

About 70% of girls prefer shaving over other hair removal methods, and with convenience, affordability, and low pain level on its side, it’s not difficult to see why. The problem is, shaving to achieve smooth skin is actually counter productive.

While shaving, your underarms will get rid of unwanted hair, it is also one major reason behind skin darkening and bumps. You may not notice it, but every time you reach out for that razor, about a third of what you shave off is underarm skin. Frequent and repetitive shaving leads to irritation, dryness, redness. Eventually bumps develop, and skin darkening occurs.

If you need to shave, your underarms will need a little extra Tender Loving Care. Here's a simple guide.

Treat sensitive skin right
The underarm area is very sensitive because its skin is relatively thin and does not get as much sunlight as the rest of your body. When a part of that already thin layer is removed due to shaving, the area becomes even more sensitive, and sometimes causes redness, itching, and stinging.

To avoid irritation, always use a mild soap or cleanser with moisturizing properties when showering.

Friction from a razor also aggravates sensitivity and causes darkness, but you can make shaving easier and quicker by applying some shaving gel, cream, or foam first. This will soften the hair and give the blades a smoother glide.

A beauty routine for your underarms
If you don’t know what type of pampering you should give your underarms, take inspiration from your facial routine: just cleanse and moisturize.

Cleanse
Before anything else, properly cleansing your underarm area is very important. Do this by using a mild but hardworking anti-bacterial soap or cleanser. Every so often, you may want to use an exfoliating cleanser to get rid of the dead skin that causes darkening. Keep in mind though, that less is more because too much scrubbing can lead to discoloration as well. Make sure to pat the area dry with a towel.

Moisturize
Hydration has immense benefits for your health. It can also help your underarms a huge deal. Counter dryness by moisturizing your underarms with a body lotion. To save you a step, you can also use a deodorant with moisturizing properties.

But if you’re looking to whiten your underarms further, use a gentle moisturizing deodorant to prevent further darkening.

The next time you find yourself overlooking your underarms again, remember that a regimen focused on it is just as important as your weekly mani-pedi or monthly hair do. Adding a few extra steps to your daily routine won’t only give you smoother underarms, but will also provide that extra boost of confidence you get from a good pampering.

How To Make Ginger Wraps, And Burn Belly Fat Overnight!

Losing weight is not exactly an easy task, because in order to do so, it is significantly important to follow a healthy diet regime and exercise on regular basis, which requires overall a lot of dedication.

Unfortunately, the whole commercializing of diets, products and gym health is a lie, because those methods rarely work, and in most cases, you end up gaining back all the fat you lost, in just a couple of weeks. Luckily, there is an all-natural shortcut you can take to achieve a slim belly, and the method works literally overnight.

The remedy we are going to present you in this article is ginger wraps, and believe it or not, it has helped thousands of people reduce their belly fat in an extremely short period of time (1-2 days).

Ingredients You Will Need:

1 tbsp. of grated Ginger
4-5 tbsp. of Body lotion
Plastic wrap
A towel
Bandage

Instructions:
Start off by soaking the towel in warm water before wrapping it on your belly and letting it sit for 5 minutes in order to open up your pores well. Once done, mix the ginger and body lotion and rub the solution on the affected area before wrapping plastic wrap around your waist and securing it with an elastic bandage. Let the compress sit for at least 6 hours (or overnight).

If you start feeling a burning sensation – it is completely normal and it is a sign that the method is functioning properly. Again, this treatment has helped thousands of people get rid of their annoying belly fat, and we guarantee that it will help you too.

Healthy Tips For A Healthy And Satisfied Relationship

The following tips can help you and your partner create and maintain a healthy relationship

GOOD COMMUNICATION

Communication is key. It is one of the most important qualities in a healthy relationship. However, not everyone knows how to communicate properly or even communicate at all.  They also discuss the bad instead of sweeping issues under the rug. In order to move forward and grow, you need to be able to truly talk about your feelings. No matter how awkward or uncomfortable it feels, it will make for a long-lasting and fulfilling relationship.

YOU TREAT EACH OTHER WITH KINDNESS

Nothing is more important than treating the person you love with care, consideration, empathy, and appreciation. If you find yourself showing more respect to people you hardly know than you show your partner, take a step back and revisit your priorities.

YOU NEED YOUR  SPACE

Just because you are in love doesn’t mean you have to spend every moment together. Taking time to pursue your own interests and friendships keeps your relationship fresh and gives you both the opportunity to grow as individuals, while growing as a couple.

YOUR RELATIONSHIP IS YOUR HAVEN

Your relationship should be a safety net, a stable place to come home to at the end of the day. That doesn’t mean you don’t fight, it just means that when things are hard, you would rather see your partner than commiserate with coworkers.

YOU SAY THE MAJIC WORDS

"I love you", "Thank you", and “I’m sorry”.

SUPPORT AND TRUST

Both sides need to be willing to listen, but also must give what the other needs, whether that's empathy, love, a pep talk or even a harsh truth. This support builds trust; both parties are more willing to open themselves up to the relationship because they feel safe. This trust helps you to value your partner as an individual, rather than as an extension of your own life.

RESPECT

It is difficult to have a healthy relationship without mutual respect. Trust as mentioned above and respect are two of the most important elements of a healthy relationship. Respect requires listening to your partner, refraining from yelling and name-calling, and treating your partner in a manner in which you would like to be treated. It is also essential to act in ways that warrant respect from your partner, says author Hara Estroff Marano, writing for Psychology Today.

Weird Things You Didn’t Know About The Vagina

Most of us may think we know all there is to know about being a woman, but the reality is, our bodies are a lot more complex than we realize For this reason, there could be a number of weird things you didn't know about your lady parts, but probably should. It's not exactly something you discuss with your friends everyday, so your knowledge about what's going on down there may be a lot less comprehensive than you think.

"The vagina is a taboo topic that women don’t feel comfortable talking about," says Sarah Yamaguchi, MD, OB/GYN at Good Samaritan Hospital Los Angeles. "It has turned into a negative word in our society. Colloquial terms such as 'pussy' and 'douche' imply that the vagina is something bad that we should be ashamed of."

Although our lady parts are nothing to be ashamed of, because they're considered taboo, some important aspects aren't regularly discussed. Part of understanding yourself is understanding how your body functions, especially down there, and even if it's not the most pleasant topic, you might be surprised by the number of things you didn't know about your vagina and other reproductive organs. Here are eight weird things you didn't know about your lady parts, but should.

Your Vagina Is Self-Cleaning

Your vagina might seem like it needs some tending, but you're better off staying away from any soaps, as it can take care of cleaning itself. "There is no need to douche," says Yamaguchi. "Your body will naturally clean itself, and douching will just alter the ph balance and the normal flora that is there to keep you healthy."

Your Clitoris Basically Gets A Boner

A penis isn't the only thing that gets erect during arousal. Your clitoris too becomes enlarged, as it contains erectile tissue that is very similar to the tissue in the penis, according to sheknows.com. Not everyone can see this swelling, but it does occur, and it prepares your body for orgasm by tightening around the vaginal canal.

Your Vagina Has The Same Acidity As Wine

You probably haven't given much thought about your vagina's acidity (because why would you?), but your vagina's pH level is actually important. A normal level is about 3.8 to 4.5, which is about the same as a glass of wine. Changes in your vagina's acidity can actually lead to problems such as a yeast infection or bacterial vaginosis, according to webmd.com.

A Smaller Clitoris Means A Harder Time Orgasming

If you've ever wondered why you have a more difficult time orgasming, your clitoris size may be to blame. A study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine found that clitorises that were smaller and located farther from the vagina were associated with more problems achieving orgasm.

Everyone's Labia Look Different

"Some women have large labia and some have small labia, and they are not always equal on each side," says Yamaguchi. "This is normal. People have different-sized feet and different-sized breasts, so it only makes sense their labia can be different as well."

That Thing Your Male Partner Is Hitting During Sex? Could Be Your Cervix Or Uterus

"That 'thing' your partner is hitting sometimes during deep penetration causing you some discomfort is likely your cervix and uterus," says Yamaguchi. "Everyone’s uterus and cervix is at a slightly different angle and position, so different positions are more or less comfortable for some people."

 Some Discharge Is Normal

Some people see discharge and instantly think "STD!" but some discharge is perfectly normal. "Your vagina normally produces discharge, and it will change throughout your cycle due to hormone fluctuations," says Yamaguchi. "Even the odor may vary throughout the month." You should only feel worried if you notice a difference in your discharge color or odor or if it's accompanied by vaginal itching and burning, according to webmd.com.

There Are 8,000 Nerve Endings In The Clitoris

Your clitoris is pretty special: It has more nerves per millimeter than any other organ. It is estimated to have over 8,000, in fact, even more than the male counterpart, says gynecologist Alyssa Dweck in an article with Prevention.

How To Make Your Own Makeup Remover Wipes Using Paper Towels, Water, & Oil (DIY)

The worst thing about makeup has always been taking it off. It's always that one last thing you have to do before you go to bed, and if you don't, you instantly regret it when you wake up. When you're tired, makeup removing wipes are a godsend because they're so quick.

That convenience comes with a big price tag, but you can make your own wipes a lot cheaper, with the added benefit of using products you already love. They're super easy to make and customize for your skin type, and only require a few materials.

The wipes themselves are just regular paper towels cut in half. The solution is part oil, part cleanser, and some water. Oil is a natural makeup remover, and the one used most commonly is coconut oil, but you can use olive, castor, or another oil if you prefer.

To make the solution, start with about two cups of purified water and add one to two tablespoons of oil. You can include a few squirts of your favorite cleanser if you want, but it's not necessary. Warm the solution in the microwave or a saucepan just long enough to melt the oil if it's solid.

Now, cut your roll of paper towels in half, if its a large roll, place it in a container with an airtight lid, and pour the solution over the towels. After soaking for a few minutes, the cardboard tube should be easy to remove.

The wipes will keep anywhere from a few days to a few weeks depending on the climate and the container you keep them in. To keep bacteria away and prevent them from molding, you can add a few drops of tea tree oil to the solution before pouring it on the wipes.

Have you ever made your own makeup remover wipes? Share your experience (and recipe) in the comments.

Remedies For Spider Viens

Spider veins, also known as telangiectasias or angioectasias, are small, dilated blood vessels.

The affected vessels appear like thin red or blue lines on the surface of the skin or mucous membranes and look like spider webs or tree branches.

This problem mostly affects the legs, hands and face, especially around the nose, cheeks and chin.

Spider veins occur as a result of weak or damaged valves in the veins.

Several factors are responsible for this kind of damage, including poor blood circulation, age, heredity, a history of blood clots, taking birth control pills, hormonal changes in the body, standing or sitting for long periods of time, wearing clothes that are too tight, obesity, constipation and exposure to harmful ultraviolet (UV) sunrays.

Though usually harmless, they can sometimes cause symptoms like swelling, pain, throbbing, rashes and itching around the veins as well as restless legs.

At times they can cause complications, such as skin ulcers, bleeding, phlebitis and deep vein thrombosis.

As spider veins are more of a cosmetic than health problem, people look for ways to reduce the unsightly appearance of these veins.

Many people opt for surgery, but with some simple lifestyle changes and natural remedies, you can easily reduce the appearance of spider veins, improve the symptoms, support good circulation and prevent a recurrence of the condition.

Note: Consult a doctor if the veins are warm to the touch, very tender and painful.

1. Ginger

Ginger helps improve blood circulation, making it an effective treatment for spider veins.

Ginger also helps break up fibrin, a blood protein that builds up in areas where your veins are injured. A 2001 study published in the Indian Journal of Medical Sciences confirms the fibrinolytic enhancing property of ginger.

Cut 1 inch of fresh ginger root into thin pieces.
Add the ginger slices to about 2 cups of boiling water.
Simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.
Strain, add honey and drink it while the tea is still warm.
Enjoy ginger tea 2 or 3 times a day.
Note: If taking blood pressure medication or blood thinners, consult your doctor before using ginger.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is another natural treatment for spider veins. It improves blood flow and circulation, which helps reduce swelling and pain to a great extent.

Saturate a piece of cloth with raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar. Place the cloth on the affected area for 15 to 20 minutes. Do this 2 or 3 times a day for several days.
Also, add 2 teaspoons of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar to a glass of water and stir well. You can also add a little raw honey for taste Drink it twice daily.

3. Horse Chestnut

The herb horse chestnut helps strengthen veins and thus is very effective in reducing the discomforts of spider veins and other venous problems. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-swelling properties.

A 2006 study published in Advances in Therapies notes that horse chestnut extract offers a real alternative in the treatment of patients with mild to moderate venous insufficiency.

Apply horse chestnut seed gel (available in the market) externally on the affected area twice daily.
Alternatively, mix 1 tablespoon of horse chestnut tincture in 10 tablespoons of distilled witch hazel. Apply it to the affected area twice daily.
You can also take horse chestnut supplements. Consult your doctor for the correct dosage.
Note: Pregnant or nursing women should not ingest horse chestnut. Also, avoid using this herb if you have kidney or liver disease, or if you are taking blood thinning medications.

4. Massage

Regular massage of the affected area is another easy and simple way to improve circulation, which can help get rid of spider veins. It also helps reduce pain and inflammation.

For massage, it is recommended to use extra-virgin olive oil or extra-virgin coconut oil due to their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Plus, these oils quickly penetrate deep into the skin.

Slightly warm the oil of your choice in a microwave.
Use this warm oil to massage the affected veins with firm yet gentle strokes.
Massage for 10 minutes at a time, 3 or 4 times daily.

5. Exercise

Poor blood circulation is one of the leading causes of spider veins, especially on the legs. Exercise improves blood circulation throughout the body, strengthens your body and improves the veins’ strength.

Moderate daily exercise even helps fight obesity and reduces the risk of other venous insufficiency problems.

Walk for 30 minutes or more, at least 5 times a week. Also, get up and walk around every 2 to 3 hours for 10 minutes.
To strengthen your calf muscles, raise yourself up on the balls of your feet and then slowly lower yourself back down for 10 to 15 minutes, a few times a day.
Include circulation-boosting activities, such as jogging, swimming and climbing stairs, in your daily routine.

6. Elevation

If you have spider veins on your hands and legs, elevation is a good option to relieve the pressure in the veins. Elevation even improves blood circulation to the affected area.

For spider veins on the legs, place a pillow under your legs as you sleep on your back. Also, keep the legs elevated for 15 minutes at a time, several times a day.
For spider veins on the hands, elevate the hands by placing them on a few stacked pillows for 15 minutes, 4 or 5 times a day.

To reduce the discomforts of spider veins on your face, sleep on your back with your head slightly elevated with the help of soft pillows. Your head should be at least a couple of inches above your body.

COCONUT OIL AS A FACIAL CLEANSER

These days, it has become so typical to walk into a private bathroom and find loads of skincare products from all four corners of the toilet down to the floor. It’s even more amazing to know that one person can use this much product on their skin – all promising the same things: defy aging, smoother skin, brighter complexion, less visible wrinkles. Yet, people are more and more beset by a whole menu of skin issues.

This is the reason why skincare is getting a taste of its own back-to-natural revolution and coconut oil certainly has earned a place in the midst of it all.

SKIN BENEFITS OF COCONUT OIL
Heated coconut oil when used for cooking has such a pleasant smell that fills up not just your nostrils but all of your senses – it’s calming and relaxing. Unsurprisingly, coconut oil has become a staple component of almost any type of skincare product, often added in as Capric / Caprylic /Lauric acid which functions as an emollient or skin conditioning agent.

Other than its obvious deep skin moisturizing properties, coconut oil also delivers the following skin benefits:

Skin Benefits of Coconut Oil
has natural anti-fungal and antibacterial properties that helps treat various skin infections, including acne and other skin blemishes
loaded with antioxidants that help protect skin from the cell damaging effects of free radicals
easily assimilated by the skin and made useful for skin healing, treating and maintenance purposes
pH balanced
contains very high levels of Vitamin E which does good in protecting the skin and keeping it moisturized 24/7
has high amino acid content that supports better skin synthesis and more rapid tissue repair.
Coconut oil is most especially common as an ingredient in lip balms, anti-aging moisturizers, makeup removers and hair conditioners. More recently, coconut oil’s use as a facial cleanser has been steadily gaining popularity.

WHY USE COCONUT OIL AS FACIAL CLEANSER?
The use of coconut oil as a facial cleanser can be traced back to the growing following and acceptance of the oil cleansing method, the philosophy behind which is simple: like attracts like. In facial cleansing terms, this means that the correct way to remove excess oil from skin is to use oil to strip it away. Sounds crazy, huh? But, many people have tried the oil method using various essential oils, and coconut oil is a favorite, and swear by the favorable results.

Make Coconut Oil Facial Cleanser
The oil method contests how most facial cleansing products from facial wash to toners to exfoliants have been purposely targeting to decrease the amount of oil in the skin, to dry acne and blemishes so that skin can be free from infections and irritations. Truth is, according to this method, all these products are doing is further irritating the skin, and sending the wrong signal to skin cells that tell them to produce more oil to compensate for the lost natural oils as a result of the drying effect of these products.

The oil method takes this reasoning further, claiming that oil is not the culprit but hygiene is. Using oil to strip dirty oil is a more viable way, it says, of cleansing the skin.

HOW TO MAKE COCONUT OIL FACIAL CLEANSER?
So, if you’re eager enough to try this new skin cleansing philosophy or at least, you’re ready to dare yourself to find out the sleeky proof, below are some ways you can try the oil cleansing method with coconut oil.

Method 1: Straightforward use. Rinse face with lukewarm water. Take about a teaspoon of coconut oil. Massage for at least 5 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water to remove the grime. Finish with cold water to close your pores.

Method 2: Warm cloth mask method. Take an extra virgin or virgin coconut oil, a soft wash cloth, and 2 small bins filled with lukewarm water. Rinse face with lukewarm water. Pat your face dry. Take a tablespoon or two of the coconut oil and apply on your face with a circular, massaging motion. Once the entire facial area is covered, take your wash cloth and dip it into the lukewarm water. Take out excess water from the wash cloth then spread flat on your face. This will produce steam which will soften the excess oil and dirt trapped in your pores and simultaneously help skin better absorb the coconut oil. Leave on for about 5 minutes. Wipe your face gently with the wash cloth. Rinse face with lukewarm water. End with cold, tap water.

Method 3: Anti-acne coconut oil cleanser. In a jigger glass, fill about a third of the glass with coconut oil and add in a teaspoon of baking soda. Mix just enough to cover all the baking soda in oil. Apply on face thoroughly cleansed with lukewarm water. Leave on for about 5 minutes before rinsing off with lukewarm water. End with cold water. Baking soda is an effective way to balance the skin’s pH level and get acne under control.

Using coconut oil as a skin cleanser certainly has a promising claim to it. Skincare regimens, however, result to different things among different people and it certainly takes a little bit of curiosity and a dash of courage to brave this oily recommendation.

The Way You Feel About Your Body Can Determine How Healthy You Are

We've all had times in our lives when we haven't liked what's staring back at us in the mirror. It's all too easy to feel guilty, worthless, or shamed because of a number on the scale, and even easier to watch any speck of motivation to exercise and eat healthy completely vanish. It turns out those feelings can play an even more significant role in our health than we thought.

Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine found internalizing negative body weight stereotypes can increase the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. The January 2017 study examined 159 adults with obesity, looking at the relationship between the participants' weight bias internalization—which occurs when people apply negative body weight stereotypes to themselves, in turn devaluing themselves because of their weight—and their metabolic risk.

After participants completed blind questionnaires and underwent medical examinations to check for metabolic syndrome—an array of risk factors associated with heart disease and type 2 diabetes, like high blood pressure, triglycerides, and waist circumference—the researchers discovered something interesting: The participants with high levels of weight bias internalization were three times more likely to have metabolic syndrome and six times more likely to have high triglycerides than those with low internalization.

"The way someone feels about their body—and the way they feel about themselves because of their body—can factor into how healthy they are," says lead study author Rebecca Pearl, PhD, an assistant professor of psychology in psychiatry. "For instance, if someone feels badly about themselves and thinks they're lazy, it's less likely they'll go on the walk they were planning. That's one possible pathway in which this internalized stigma is negatively affecting health."

Unfortunately, healthcare providers, the media, and even friends and family members play a big role in the stereotypes and stigmas surrounding weight. But our fat-shaming culture isn't just harming people mentally—it's very clear that it's putting people at a greater risk physically, too, if they internalize the negativity.

"There are a lot of different sources in which people are exposed to weight stigma, and weight stigma affects people of all weight statuses," Pearl says. "We see people in the media being shamed because of their weight, or people who are overweight being depicted in a negative, stereotypical way. That can make people feel bad about their bodies regardless of what their weight status is."

Our world is slowly making progress in battling weight stigmas and stereotypes — we're just not there yet. In the meantime, it's up to us to continue waving goodbye to the negativity so we can create an environment everyone feels good in, no matter what their size is.
